I really learned a lot during your visit to our island. Google Earth, Google Doc, Blogging, and Wikipedia are wonderful tools that all educators should be aware of. Even though access to the internet is limited there are some technological developments and I believe it will get better as we move forward.

I am excited to know that educators here are getting a glimpse of the powerful technologies and learning potentials that are now available via the Internet. I too would like to use these technologies more fully, yet as you note both access and bandwidth remain issues. I know the college is exploring options to improve our bandwidth, I know too that Pohnpei will benefit from the fiber optic cable that will connect the island to Guam. I hope that the fruits of these efforts will also benefit the elementary and secondary school systems as well. I would note that I have my own biases - I think computers as a learning tool can and should be introduced as early as possible.
