Teaching: Big Heart

Profession

Working with children with special need is my profession / job. Making a difference with these children is not easy but just knowing that I am very much enjoy helping these children toward their needs so they can be learning with the regular children at their age groups is rewarding for me.

The Beauty of Pohnpei

Let me tell you about the Island of Pohnpei:

• First people of the island is hospitable and respective
• Beautiful site on this island; magnificent waterfalls, historical places like Nanmadol Ruin, high green mountains for hiking, pure and clean rivers for swimming, sea water is fun for scuba diving, biggest wave for surfing, you can experience both sunny and rainy days.
• Culture and traditions is easy to learn
• magnificent picnic places on by motor boat and automobile.
• if you want to try our Sakau/ Kava we have lot of places to drink sakau.
• soooo come and visit our island and experience new life style

Teaching: Big Heart

I learned one important lesson about teaching last month. Being a good and effective teacher is not how well educated and experienced you are but how big your heart is. Having a big heart counts more than a big education. In Pohnpeian "kaidehn sukuhl laud me kesempwal ahpw mohngiong laud."

Marine Resources

Our final project is about Marine Resources.The importance of our marine resources and how we can conserve, preserve, and put to better use of our resources. Meaning maintaining our resources in ways that will better serve our economy and well being. The success of our project is that we have better understanding of marine resources, and we have abundant information since we are surround by ocean. The challenge is making the students understand the true significance of our marine resources. Some people and communities tend to be oblivious to what is obivious thinking that it does not concern them. But we will try our best to get the message through, even if it means sacrificing some of our valuable time.

Final Project

The final project has many parts and some of the part I did not understand. Need help on nutrition to be taught in middle grade. If any please post.

Final Project

Our final project is very big project. What are the components that are to be included? Can you provide more examples? Should we include copies of student worksheets? How can we incorporate a field trip activity if needed? Is it also practical to invite a guest speaker or consultant on the subject matter of the project? How long should each component be?
